What is

Is DAXTOP cloud-based?

Yes. DAXTOP runs in the cloud and is used through a web browser — there is no server to install or maintain on site. Your products, prices, inventory counts, sales history, and reports live in your account and stay in sync across every device and location that signs in.

Cloud delivery is what makes the multi-location features work: a price change made at head office reaches every register in seconds, stock transfers between branches update both counts instantly, and owners can check live sales from a phone anywhere in the world.

Cloud does not mean internet-dependent at the counter

The point of sale keeps working through internet outages: offline mode queues every transaction locally and syncs automatically once the connection returns, so checkout never stops. Receipt printing is local too — AnyPrint sends receipts to USB thermal printers over the machine itself, with no cloud round-trip.

What cloud-based means for cost and maintenance

There is no server room, no database administrator, and no version to upgrade: updates arrive continuously on the platform side, backups and disaster recovery are part of the infrastructure, and security patches never wait for a technician visit. For a small business, that removes the two costs that made traditional business software expensive — the hardware and the person who babysits it.

It also changes what hardware you buy. Registers are ordinary computers or tablets running a browser; if a terminal dies, you sign in on any replacement device and keep selling. The only locally installed piece is AnyPrint for receipt printing, and it reinstalls in about a minute.
