AnyPrint — receipt printing for browser-based POS, by DAXTOP
AnyPrint is a free Windows application designed, built, and maintained by DAXTOP. It solves one stubborn problem in modern point of sale: browsers cannot talk to USB devices, so a browser-based register cannot print receipts on its own. AnyPrint is the bridge — install it once on the checkout PC and receipts print instantly.
What AnyPrint does
AnyPrint runs quietly in the system tray, watches for USB thermal printers, and exposes a secure local API on the machine itself (127.0.0.1:3088). Your DAXTOP store — or any web application on the same PC — sends it a print job, and AnyPrint translates it into native ESC/POS commands: sale receipts, return receipts, barcodes, QR codes, and test prints, printing in well under a second.
It works with any USB thermal printer that speaks the ESC/POS command set — the industry standard covering Xprinter, Epson, Citizen, Bixolon, Star (in ESC/POS mode), and most other brands, in 58mm and 80mm widths — with no driver installation and no configuration.
Secure and local by design
- Binds exclusively to 127.0.0.1 — never reachable from the network
- Every request requires a Bearer token; no data ever leaves the machine
- No cloud dependency: printing works identically offline
- No account, no subscription — free for commercial use, forever
- Silent automatic updates from verified releases
Why a printer bridge exists at all
Traditional POS systems print through Windows drivers, which are slow, brittle, and different for every printer. Web-based POS systems have the opposite problem: the browser sandbox cannot reach USB at all. AnyPrint resolves both — a single, tiny, security-hardened service that speaks the printers' native language directly, so a receipt starts printing in under a second with no dialog and no driver, on any supported model. It is the same architecture professional POS installations use, packaged as a free download.
Part of the DAXTOP ecosystem
AnyPrint is an official DAXTOP product: the same company that builds the DAXTOP business management platform engineered it to make browser-based checkout production-grade. DAXTOP stores detect AnyPrint automatically — there is nothing to configure on the platform side — and restaurants use the same bridge to fire kitchen tickets to prep-station printers.
The product has its own site with full documentation: anyprint.app — including the getting-started guide, the printer compatibility list, and the free Windows download. You can also download it from DAXTOP directly on the downloads page.
