What is

Can I print barcode labels with DAXTOP?

Yes. For products that arrive without manufacturer barcodes — produce, house-made goods, bulk items split into retail units — DAXTOP generates barcodes and prints labels, so every item in the store can flow through scan-based checkout, receiving, and stocktakes.

Label printing works alongside receipt printing: AnyPrint, DAXTOP's free print bridge, handles receipt and label printers over USB using the printers' native command set, with no driver installation.

Practical uses

  • Label goods received in bulk before they reach the sales floor
  • Re-label price changes for shelf-edge accuracy
  • Barcode internal or house-brand products that never had codes
  • Print shelf labels so staff can scan to check stock and prices in place

Label discipline that holds up

Labeling works when it happens at one place: receiving. Goods get their labels before they reach the sales floor, so nothing uncoded is ever on a shelf. Assign the task to whoever books deliveries in, keep the label printer at the receiving bench, and the discipline maintains itself.

For pricing, decide once whether shelf tags or item labels carry the price. Item-level price labels mean re-labeling on every price change; shelf-edge labels with a barcode mean the register is always right and only the shelf tag updates. Most stores converge on shelf-edge pricing with item barcodes for identity — which is exactly the pattern DAXTOP's label printing supports.
