Does DAXTOP work with thermal printers?
Yes. DAXTOP prints receipts, return receipts, and test prints to USB thermal printers through AnyPrint — a free desktop app built by DAXTOP that bridges the browser and the printer. Browsers cannot talk to USB devices directly, so AnyPrint runs quietly on the checkout PC, receives print jobs from your DAXTOP store over a secure local API, and sends native ESC/POS commands straight to the printer.
Any USB thermal printer that supports the ESC/POS command set works — the industry standard covering Xprinter, Epson, Citizen, Bixolon, Star (in ESC/POS mode), and most other receipt printer brands, in both 58mm and 80mm widths. No drivers are required.
Setup in minutes
Install AnyPrint once from anyprint.app, plug in the printer, open your DAXTOP store in the browser, and run a test print — most setups finish in under five minutes. Kitchen printing in restaurants uses the same mechanism to fire orders to prep stations automatically.
Buying a thermal printer
If you are buying new: 58mm printers are compact and cheap, suited to cafés and kiosks; 80mm models print faster and fit more per line, the standard for supermarkets and busy counters. Prefer a model whose specification says "ESC/POS" or "Epson-compatible" and that connects over USB — that combination is guaranteed to work with AnyPrint.
The DAXTOP shop stocks receipt printers and complete POS bundles pre-tested with the platform, and the full model-by-model compatibility list is maintained at anyprint.app. If you already own a printer, check it against that list before replacing anything — most thermal printers from the last decade qualify.
