Which printers are supported by AnyPrint?

AnyPrint supports any USB thermal printer that understands the ESC/POS command set — the industry standard used by virtually every receipt printer sold since 2010. Tested brands include Xprinter, Epson, Citizen, Bixolon, Sewoo, and Star Micronics (switched to ESC/POS mode), in both 58mm and 80mm paper widths.

Three rules determine compatibility: the printer connects over USB, it accepts ESC/POS commands, and no proprietary driver claims exclusive USB access. If a printer meets those, it works — with receipts, return receipts, barcodes, and QR codes printing identically across models.

Known exceptions

Label-format printers that use other command languages (Brother P-touch, Zebra ZPL) are not ESC/POS and are not supported. The full tested list, including notes per model and fiscal-printer guidance, is maintained at anyprint.app/docs/printer-compatibility.

How to check a specific model

Look at the printer's specification sheet for two things: a USB port and "ESC/POS" (sometimes written as "Epson-compatible" or "ESC/POS emulation"). If both are present, it will work. If the spec lists only StarPRNT, check the vendor utility for an ESC/POS mode switch — Star models support it. If it lists ZPL or P-touch, it is a label-language printer, not a receipt printer.

The tested table at anyprint.app/docs/printer-compatibility includes model-level notes — paper widths, cutter behavior, and the mode switches some brands need — and grows as users report new models.
